Friday Night Youth Bridge
Youth players get together most Friday nights at QCBC to play (or learn) bridge and have fun. No cost involved, and the QBA even supplies dinner! 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm. For details phone Jim Evans on 0421 116 658.
Youth Days
We run QBA Youth Days every school holidays. These free events give youths an interesting and enjoyable introduction to the game.
Free and discounted bridge for youth
Youth players are a large part of the future of bridge, so whatever can be done for youths will reap future benefits for the game.
Players who have at most their 25th birthday in the current year can join the ABF Youth Club for free. They do not pay any ABF or QBA annual fee, and get a 50% discount on entry fees in all ABF/QBA and ABF/QBA licensed events (which includes Congresses held by clubs). Individual clubs set their own policies for membership fees and playing fees for their standard sessions and non-Congress competitions.
The QBA subsidises members of the state Youth team to attend the Australian National Championships, those attending Youth Week (typically in Canberra in January), and organises subsidised accommodation for youths at the Gold Coast Congress.
