Judith Webb

Judith Webb died 28th June 2014.

Judith Webb was a long time member who had served on the Management Committee of the Gympie Bridge Club and it wasn’t until late 2012 that she found it impossible to continue playing bridge due to her illness. She was definitely a character with her flamboyant clothes, ear rings and I even remember her having 2 Chop sticks sticking out of her long hair.

For some time she had a partner called “Doll” Coxin who learnt bridge under Rhoda Clifford at the same time as Judith . When Doll left to care for her sister, Judith paired up with Jim Boxsell and that lasted till she stopped playing bridge. She was an accomplished seamstress and was very involved with the Zodiac Players, making many of the costumes for their productions. Judith was a good cook and we will miss her delicious soup on Charity Days. We can all remember her and Ray at the Christmas parties. (once seen, never forgotten but what fun they had). The Gympie Bridge club kept in contact with her, over the last year, sending their best wishes.
